Worlds Largest Cottonmouth

World's Largest Cottonmouth?

This video from Mossy Oak shows this very large cotonmouth.  The largest ever reported measured 71 inches long.  Not sure how long this one is but wouldn't want to encounter it in the water.  Cottonmouths are known from being aggressive and protecting their area when encountered.  They are posionous but luckily bites are rare and can be treated.

Many people in Missouri falsely believe that any snake seen in or near the water is a water moccasin or cottonmouth. There are seven different species of non-venomous, semi-aquatic snakes found in most of Missouri. These non-venomous water snakes vastly outnumber the much feared cottonmouths, and they are the ones that usually frighten anglers and other stream lovers.

I have always loved camping, ever since I was eight, and was forcibly stuffed in a trunk and dropped off in the middle of the forest. My dad was a complex man, but I believe he was trying to show me the value of camping.
