Lake Jacomo

This magnificent 970 acre lake is one of three awesome lakes in Jackson County, Missouri.  Located in the 7,800 acre Fleming Park, Lake Jacomo shares the park with Blue Springs Lake.  Formation of Fleming Lake was conceived by the Presiding Judge of Jackson County, Harry S. Truman in 1932, but was not funded by voters until 20 years later. 

Completed in 1959, the lake is managed by Jackson County Parks and Recreation.  The name Jacamo is a syllabic abbreviation for Jackson County, MO

Boating on Lake Jacomo

Boasting its own marina, the lake is a  fast-paced place for water fun such as fishing, boating, and sailing in Sail Boat Cove.  The marina offers, concessions, boat rental, tackle, lakeside gasoline, bait and dock fishing.  Lake Jacomo boasts three boat ramps for easy access.  Popular among the fishermen, you'll find Crappie, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Carp, Catfish, Hybrid Striped Bass and Walleye.  

The maximum horsepower for boats on Lake Jacomo is 25 horsepower with the exception of pontoon's which which can operate 40 hp motors.  Boat and motor permits are required.

Camping at Lake Jacomo

Camping sites and picnic shelters are available scattered around the lake.  There are 57 camping sites around Lake Jacomo and Fleming Park capable of handling RV's and tent campers.  Some of these campsites provide showers, vending machines, firewood, and ice.  Picnic shelters offer sheltered picnic tables with grills as well as playgrounds for the children.
